Eyebrow Transplant in our Harley Street Clinic
Why should you consider an eyebrow transplant?
Due to waxing, scarring, or simply over plucking over the years you may find that your eyebrows look too thin or are missing in places. Eyebrows can also thin with the ageing process. A fuller brow gives a more youthful appearance. Many people especially women are now seeking eyebrow transplants.
You may be looking for thicker, fuller natural looking eyebrows especially as these are very fashionable. Unlike tattooing and using cosmetics an eyebrow transplant will achieve a completely natural look for you. It is also permanent. If your eyebrows are too thin or patchy an eyebrow hair transplant will regain eyebrow density and give you a much fuller and thicker looking natural eyebrow.
If you are thinking of having an eyebrow transplant you will definitely need a consultation with the surgeon. This is an opportunity to find out more and to discuss what kind of results you would like to achieve. Drawings will be made on your face so that you can see your new eyebrow shape.
How are eyebrow transplants carried out?
The technique used is FUE or FUT (follicular unit extraction). It is carried out under local anaesthesia and it is a permanent procedure.
The follicles are usually extracted from the neck region or behind the ears as they are very similar to those of the eyebrows.
An eyebrow transplant is a whole day procedure. You will have this under local anaesthetic and this is so that you are kept as comfortable as possible during the procedure. An eyebrow transplant is a complex and delicate process. It requires the surgeon to work with extreme accuracy and precision in order to achieve the perfect look you are desiring.
How many hairs do you need to carry out an eyebrow transplant?
A average eyebrow transplant will require anything between 250 and 400 hairs per eyebrow. We aim to achieve a natural full beautifully shaped eyebrow.
Why are eyebrow transplants complex to carry out?
Eyebrow transplants really require expertise because each newly transplanted hair has to follow the natural growth direction of existing hairs of the eyebrow. The aim is to achieve a natural full looking eyebrow so the implantation has to be done with expertise making sure that each hair lies flat and follows the correct direction of your existing eyebrow hair. You will be wanting density in the eyebrows and to achieve this the hairs also need to be placed very tightly together.
We use very fine needles during the extraction stage when removing the new hair will be transplanted into your eyebrows. This is to ensure that there is no scarring to both the head and eyebrows. Small forceps which are fine are then used to implant the hairs into your new eyebrows individually.
What happens after the procedure?
After the procedure, you can return home to recover. The new eyebrows will have tiny scabs around each new hair. You will notice them falling off in a few days. After a few weeks the transplanted eyebrow hairs will naturally fall out and in return, new permanent eyebrow hairs will grow. This process will take three months to six months.
We provide full post operative cover during the whole process.
If you’re worried or need support we are only a phone call away.
You will have a completely natural result which is permanent with no visible scars.
How much does an eyebrow transplant cost?
This is a complex and delicate procedure requiring a whole day and very fine work by the whole surgical team. It’s crucial to achieve the result you desire.
An eyebrow transplant costs from around £3500 to £4000.
